Creating images with a strong narrative has been a theme throughout Teresa's work. She began her art career as a sculptor working with metals and fabrics gradually moving back to two-dimensional work. She has worked with oils, acrylics, watercolor and encaustics.  At present, working in a combination of   digital and traditional media, staying open to what best suits a project in order to yield the most professional results.

The natural world is a primary influence for Teresa.  She believes it is the job of the artist to create new perspectives giving the viewer the opportunity to see things from another angle. In children’s illustration, she hopes to inspire the reader but also instill hope and strength in a developing mind.

Teresa Wiles lives and works in Kernersville, North Carolina. She received her BFA in sculpture from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Digital Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
